DrayTek UK User Forum

The forum rules are compulsory and enforced by a team of volunteer moderators. It is relatively rare that moderators do need to intervene to remove a message or a user, but they will do so when rules are breached or the quiet enjoyment of the forum is disturbed. The moderators will work to maintain the forum as a friendly and useful place for all users. The moderators certainly do not mind healthy constructive debate or disagreement.

When a user or message has been removed, it is usually very obvious to the user what the reason is. If the user is being deliberately anti-social or disruptive, they might still claim indignance, innocence or ignorance however messages/users are never removed without good reason, at the discretion of the moderators.

In the very unlikely event of a message being removed in error, you may contact the moderators to enquire, and if the removal was in error, they will invite you to re-post.

Why has my message/account been removed?

A summary of the most common reasons is below. Please refer to the Rules for further information.

1. Your message contained an advert or spam
2. You are not an existing/current DrayTek user
3. You are outside the UK (including NI/CI)
4. Your message was not relevant to DrayTek products
5. The message was posted by someone who is banned from the forum
6. The message was abusive or could cause offence
7. The message was potentially libellous or could mis-inform
8. The message was regarding the removal of another message
9. The posting breached one of the other rules.

It is accepted that some cases may be arguable but the moderators cannot engage in protracted debate in the forum which would exacerbate the problem. Messages are never removed 'lightly' but sometimes a decision must be made on balance of probability). If you think the removal was borderline, please check with the moderators before re-posting to clarify why a message was removed. If you have a query about a removal, please make it by email to the moderators - do not enquire/post in the forum.

Messages are not removed just because they are complaining about or critical of a problem or product.

Summary of the most important rules :

• No swearing, abuse or advertising
• Forum access is permitted for existing Draytek users in the UK/NI only.
• The forum is not for pre-sales queries (email DrayTek directly - see here).
• This is a user-to-user forum, not an official support medium - please use other methods for official support.
• Admin/Moderators do not provide official support/comment for DrayTek.
• The forum is not run by DrayTek; it is run by volunteer moderators/operators.
