Overview

DrayTek SmartMonitor is a powerful network traffic analysis tool. It combines traffic 'sniffing' together with application layer decoding, categorisation, analysis and statistics. Designed to work with the Vigor2950 and VigorPro5510 firewalls and Vigor 2820 ADSL router series, SmartMonitor enables you to analyse in great depth your Internet traffic, as a professional aid to improving efficiency and detecting potential problems. You are also able to capture actual live data, such as the content of emails or Instant Messages coming into or out of your network as well as see statistics on data type activity and specific files uploaded/downloaded. SmartMonitor is a software download which is installed on a PC (Windows XP or Vista). That PC then collects the data from your router/firewall's ethernet mirror port (for port setup instructions click here). SmartMonitor can monitor up tog 30 users on the Vigor 2820 and up to 150 users on the Vigor 2950/5510. Click on the 'screenshots' tab above to see some usage examples. Important Note: DrayTek Smartmonitor is a powerful tool, providing not only traffic analysis but application-aware drill-down tools which can access traffic at the packet level. This means that data sent by your network users may be visible in SmartMonitor. In some cases, this information may be sensitive so SmartMonitor should only be used where you own the network (or are so authorised) and where users are informed that any information they send to/from the Internet may be viewed or analysed.

SmartMonitor can monitor up to 30 users on Vigor2820/2910 series, 60 users on Vigor2930 series and 100 users on Vigor2955/5500.
