Vigor 2600G - Configure to use as Wireless Access Point was created by vij
Hi, I have a situation whereby a friend has a Netgear ADSL Wireless Router configured and working fine.
Connected to ports 1, 2 & 3 he has LinkSys Wireless Routers which are configured to pick up IP address from DHCP configured on Netgear.
This all works fine. Users can connect onto any of the 3 LinkSys Router and successfully surf the web, etc.
He needs to extend the range and has had a network cable wired to another part of the hotel that has no wireless coverage.
I have a Vigor 2600G which I wanted to utilise for him but was unable to configure the 2600G. Basically, any clients connecting wirelessly to the 2600G are not getting DHCP addresses from the Netgear Router.
I do not want to configure the 2600G for the internet as the NetGear provides this.
Can anyone quickly guide me on how to configure the 2600G to participate on the network like the LinkSys routers.
I am certain I have done this setup before but its been such a long time since.
(probably doing something very obviously wrong but with this flu I cannot think straight)
