The Vigor 130 is a pre-configured VDSL2 / ADSL2+ modem that takes a VDSL2 or ADSL2+ connection and performs full pass-through / bridge to Ethernet presentation, which can then be used by a device such as a router to connect directly to the internet. For the official specification of the Vigor130, refer to this link.

The VLAN tag is pre-configured on the modem to 101 for use with BT Openreach Fiber to the Cabinet installations. This can be changed in the modem's web interface if the modem is being used with an ISP that requires a different VLAN tag to be used.

Default Vigor 130 settings:

  • Configured to pass through a PPPoE connection
  • VDSL2 VLAN Tag is set to 101
  • ADSL VPI/VCI is set to 0/38 for PPPoA connections, 0/101 for MPoA connections
  • Web interface on http://192.168.2.1 with a Username of "admin" and a Password of "admin"

Setup Procedure:

  • Connect the RJ-11 port (marked 'DSL') on the Vigor 130 to the VDSL or ADSL line.
  • Connect the RJ-45 Ethernet port on the Vigor 130 to the WAN ethernet port of your router (or PC).
  • Configure the WAN interface on your router to use PPPoE and enter the username and password details for the internet connection.

Connect a computer directly to the Vigor 130 modem's LAN port and the PC should receive an IP address in the 192.168.2.x range (if not, set the PC's IP address to 192.168.2.10).

With that connected, the Vigor 130 modem's web interface can be accessed on http://192.168.2.1 with a username of "admin" and a password of "admin" by default.

In the modem's web interface, go to [Internet Access] > [General Setup], on that page, the VLAN Tag insertion (VDSL2) setting will be enabled and set to 101. Change the Tag Value setting to the required value then click OK on that page to apply the setting change. That will request to restart the modem, click OK on that page to restart the modem.

Once the modem has restarted, the VDSL2 interface will use the VLAN tag setting as configured.
