There are two methods of transferring a call, attended and un-attended transfer.

With attended transfer the user would first speak to the destination party before connecting the call. If the new party does not answer then the original callee can be retreived by pressing the corresponding Line button

With unattended transfer the user would hangup before the connection is made to the destination party, leaving the original callee to hear the ringing progress. With unattended transfer, if the new destination does not answer then the original callee would be dropped.

The Transfer softkey only appears when a call is in progress, as shown in the picture.

To transfer a call that the user is currently on they should do the following:

Attended Transfer

  1. Press the softkey labelled "Trans." - The VigorPhone will put the current call on hold, pick up the 2nd line and present a dialtone to the user
  2. Dial the number and press "Dial" - The VigorPhone will dial the number using the 2nd line
  3. When the new callee answers the user can speak to them and then hangup to connect the two parties

Un-attended Transfer

  1. Press the softkey labelled "Trans." - The VigorPhone will put the current call on hold, pick up the 2nd line and present a dialtone to the user
  2. Dial the number and press "Dial" - The VigorPhone will dial the number using the 2nd line
  3. Hangup before the new callee answers and the original caller will hear the ringing tone and will be connected to the new callee as soon as they answer
