ExpiredHow to setup Multiple LAN Subnets with Port-Based VLAN
Vigor Routers support multiple IP subnets, enabling different groups of LAN clients to operate within separate IP address ranges. By configuring VLANs (Virtual LANs), you can partition LAN clients into distinct networks with their own subnets. This article explains how to set up multiple IP subnets using port-based VLANs.
- To create a new LAN network, follow these steps:
- Go to Configuration > LAN > LAN Networks.
- Click "Add" to create a new LAN network.
- Enter a Name for the LAN network.
- Enter the private IPv4 address.
- Configure the DHCP Server settings as needed.
- Click Apply to save the profile.
- To create a new VLAN ID, follow these steps:
- Go to Configuration > LAN > VLAN List.
- Click "Add" to create a new VLAN entry.
- Enter the VLAN ID (must be in the range 1–4096).
- Enter a Name for the VLAN.
- Select the LAN network you just created.
- Click Apply to save the profile.
- To configure the Interface VLAN settings, follow these steps:
- Go to Configuration > LAN > Interface VLAN and Configure the ports as follows:
- For Port 1, select “Access” as Port Type and set 1 as Untagged VLAN.
- For Port 2, select “Access” as Port Type and set 2 as Untagged VLAN.
- For Port 3, select “Access” as Port Type and set 3 as Untagged VLAN.
With this configuration:
- Devices connected to LAN Port 1 will be part of LAN1 and receive an IP address from the 192.168.1.0/24 subnet.
- Devices connected to LAN Port 2 will be part of LAN2 and receive an IP address from the 192.168.2.0/24 subnet.
- Devices connected to LAN Port 3 will be part of LAN3 and receive an IP address from the 192.168.3.0/24 subnet.
