MAC VPN dial-in TSG585v7/2910 i.p. QUERY was created by shadetek
I have a Vigor 2910 dual wan modem. I previously had Demon and BeThere as ISP's and now I have two BeThere ADSL lines going to my 2910. Previously I forwarded the PPTP, ports (1753) to the Vigor and I could dial in no problem, now I have re-configured the new ADSL (removing the Demon line...don't ask), to the Vigor and it cannot connect, error 718:- It sits on verifying username and password and then stops with the above error.
Now, the thing I have noticed is that in Vigor, it says it is own mac address 00-50-7F-C1-15-A1, but in the Thompson router it says the Vigor router is 00:50:7f:c1:15:a0. The routing is using the MAC addresses rather than the IP addresses for some reason and I think this is the problem. Can anyone tell me why the Thompson router is picking up the wrong MAC address? PS, the Vigor has both ADSL modems attached on 192.168.1.253(WAN1) and 192.168.1.254(WAN2), but only one, 192.168.1.253(WAN1), is switched on in the WAN settings.
