2962 behind 2862 for VPN was created by tri
Hi all
I am just reaching out to see if this is possible.
We have a 2862 that is on BT fibre with 5 static IP addresses and allowing IPSec VPN tunnels to connect remote devices to send data to a server on the LAN. All working fine.
We have run out of VPN tunnels on that router so have a 2962 plugged in to 2862 and were trying to work out if it is possible to route all traffic from one of the 2862 IP WAN Aliases to that 2962 router to serve more VPN tunnels
We have tried DMZ, Route Policies and Open Ports but just can't get the connection working.
Last resort would be to get a 166 and move all the VPNs over to the new 2962 router but that means taking the whole thing down for several hours, which we would rather not do.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Mat

Hi tri,
The problem you’re having is that, even though you have multiple IP’s on the WAN, your 2862 is hosting the service for your current VPNs and to allow pass-through, you’ll need to disable the service running on the 2862.
See the note below the activation page of VPN protocols in your 2862:

Note:To allow VPN pass-through to a separate VPN server on the LAN, disable any services above that use the same protocol and ensure that NAT Open Ports or Port Redirection is also configured.
