Vigor 167 and split pair error was created by czemacleod
Hi. Just had an openreach engineer visit due to a problem with my dsl line.
I had recently replaced the old original openreach/huawei device with a brand new vigor 167 as part of checking the fault.
Turns out the issue was a damaged connector block in the external cabling.
When the cable was fixed they then did an check and got a 'split pair' error detected, although we did have a vDSL connection at 80/20.

The engineer said he had seen a similar fault very recently with another brand new draytek modem/router.
Is this a known fault/issue with a batch of devices?

What I thought - but the only difference was unplugging the cable to the DrayTek and plugging in the one to the Hub2 at the master socket.
Admittedly, I did use different RJ11 cables - the ones that came with the respective modems, but that is all.
Hence the query if it was a bad batch of cables perhaps.
