Vigor 3300V Setup with ADSL Router was created by carpediemagency
Hi, Hopefully somebody can help.... I have spent hours on this and no luck.
Our VIgor 120 modem died today, unbelievable, the backup modem is also dead - the lan does not seem to work on either - therefore, I have a 3rd replacement LinkSYS router.
The router connects to the internet fine and the network - so all is good hear.
However, I can not seem to get the V3300 to have the correct setup to get it to work and pass traffic.
I have set it as static ip, because we have a static ip with the ADSL, but I am unsure of what the other settings are:
IP Address: is this the external public ip or the local ip of the router (e.g. 192.168.1.1)
Subnet: the router is the range 192.168.1.1 our network is on 192.168.123.X with subnet 255.255.255.0. Do I just enter 255.255.255.0?
Default Gateway: Is this the gateway the gateway of the Router from the ISP (e.g. public) or is the gateway the local router (e.g. 192.168.1.1)
DNS: I have used google 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
MTU: 1500
Can anybody help?
I am assuming that any router will work fine and there are no changes that need to be made.
THanks
