Anyone using multiple AP905 in mesh? was created by amadeus
TL/DR; Anyone got a handful of AP905's running in a mesh environment and like to comment on stability & functionality (e.g. AirPrint, Sonos)?
Currently I'm running 4 AP906 APs in mesh, with the root node and one other node using a wired uplink. Basically it's an unreliable mess. The mesh bit doesn't really work so has been turned off (by Draytek support) - having it on means every couple of weeks I have to go around resetting nodes. Even now (and as we speak), wireless is flaky at best - lots of things not working intermittently and very little logging available to debug the issue, There have been a couple of recent firmware updates but inconsequential and the device is a dead end (it seems from the outset - the AP906 cannot be used as a root node for any other devices).
I'm very wary about throwing more money after bad; I'd have replaced my entire Draytek hardware if there was an alternative (I'd go with Ubiquiti but their APs all use PoE and I can't run Ethernet to all the locations I need APs) so am wondering if replacing the AP906's with AP905's would provide the stability I'm looking for.
Draytek refuse to acknowledge the issues of the AP906; support, sales, webinars etc.
